From Watta Bubblah to Water Bottle
Water to Go- The Best Way to Stay Healthy
One of the healthiest things we can do is to drink water, and we are recommended to drink 8 glasses of water a day. In our busy lives, we now expect water to be handy just about anywhere we go. The new way of thinking isn’t to be in search of water where we go, it is to now always have water on our person at all times. Water bubblers, water fountains, or as they are commonly called now, hydration stations are now at many schools, airports, museums, and public gathering places. They are where a person can fill up their personal water bottle or drink directly from the source like a water fountain.
Not only is the trend to fill up at your local hydration station, but you must have a bottle that suits your individual needs as well as your image. Refillable water bottles can range in price anywhere from $2-$40. Looking on the internet, there limitless amounts of recommendations for the water bottles for any situation. The water bottle is now a statement piece.
Moms are always on the lookout for the best for their children. And as any new parent will know, the baby bottle section at Babies”R”Us is quite intimidating. The fear of BPA (the bad stuff found in some types of bottles made from plastic) has created nothing short of major debate over the types of water bottles that children should be using. The debate rages about whether children should be drinking out of plastic, metal, or glass.
Bloomberg Business week recently wrote an article about the trendy water bottle seen in tabloid pictures with Gisele, Charlize Theron, and Blake Lively among other well-known celebrities. The Bkr water bottle is sold at Neiman Marcus on the beauty floor for $42 for the liter size. Co-founder Tal Winter “worked so hard to make it so it won’t leak into your Prada.” Bkr water bottle sales have increased over 114% a year for the past 4 years since their inception. Their website answers the question as to why they are a Must Have Beauty Essential by stating “no product you’re using is going to work if you are dehydrated. Beauty 101: You’ve got to drink water and sleep.”
What can we expect in the future for water bottles?
HidrateMe is a smart water bottle that syncs with your phone and tracks your daily water intake. The water bottle will glow to let you know you should drink more. The HidrateMe bottle goes for $39 on Kickstarter and the app will be available in late 2015.
So the question might be- what does your water bottle say about you?
